Our results at Territory Business Sales have consistently outperformed all other brokers (both local and Interstate) due to a number of factors:
  • Marketing - As a member of one of Australia's largest Business Broker Groups (BBN Australia) with over 75 brokers spread throughout Australia, our marketing is extremely comprehensive and is on all major business for sale websites in Australia (not just one or two) as well as targeted local area and national digital marketing campaigns specialised for the NT. We also have access to specialist industry brokers where they are required for particular industry groups. In addition, we have one of the largest databases of current enquirers in Australia specifically looking for NT businesses.
  • Preparation and Presentation of the business and its data - Our business documentation is prepared by the broker here in Australia to a very high standard. Because the broker prepares the majority of the information (several days work) he gains a far deeper understanding of the business - this is invaluable when describing it to a buyer and maximising its value - The broker listing your business for sale is the same one who is responsible for selling it to potential buyers.
  • Local knowledge & presence - A large portion of our buyers need to be sourced from interstate locations and enticed to come to the NT as part of their business purchase due to the lack of finance in the NT. The economic, social and political environments and cycles that a business operates in have a significant effect on their value. A full understanding of these factors and an ability to meet high probability buyers face to face on site and take them through the business in person, more than doubles both the prospects of getting the sale completed and also maximising its price. Even when the buyer is most likely to come from interstate or overseas (as in around 60% of our buyers), the business still operates here and local knowledge is paramount. Local knowledge and presence is a key reason why we sell as many NT businesses in a month as many interstate brokerages manage to sell in a year.
  • Professional Skills & Qualifications - Andrew Hahn is the only Registered Business Valuer resident in regional Northern Australia and provides business valuations for both the Supreme and Family Law Courts in the NT as well as the ATO for business restructures. He has a First Class Honours Law degree and was awarded the Supreme Court Medal for his graduating Law class in addition to being a previous NT Small Business of the Year Winner and National finalist. He has appraised over 1,000 NT businesses over the past 10 years and settled around 100 sales here in the NT - many more than all other brokers combined in this period.

    The skills of the broker are the most important single factor in both getting a sale and achieving a good price. Few other individual brokers have sold more than one or two businesses in the NT in this period.
